In the footsteps of Sri Ramanujar, years back Srimath Thirukkudanthai Andavan Swamigal organized 108 thadaa chakkarai pongal on one of the koodarai vellum paasuram day, to symbolize fulfilling of Sri Andal's wishes. A similar scene was reenacted on this year's koodarai vellum paasuram day at Srimath Andavan Ashramam, Chennai. Since the response was so overwhelming, instead of 108 thadaas, it was 1008 thadaas (Thadaa means a vessel). There was a large gathering of over 1000 devotees on that day. |
